NORWAY KILLED FREYA

Norway has obviously forgotten that "When there is a will, there is a way"- especially when the life of a sentient being is at stake!-. It was reported that Freya the Walrus was also seen in UK, Dutch, Danish and Swedish waters, not just Norway. The world loved her, her appearances put smile on many faces and brighten many hearts . She was a symbol of love, hope and joy.

Did you know that in 2009, Norway passed the Animal Welfare act, its article 1 states " The intention of this Act is to promote good animal welfare and respect for animals." On top of that, Walruses are listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species. Norway chose to kill Freya; a young, female walrus.

It is also important to mention that it is reported that swimmers got very close to Freya in her final days, some people even taking selfies but no injuries were reported.

By killing Freya, Norway government officials' proved that they are not willing to do their best to protect & preserve animal life. The names of the heartless people who suggested and took the decision must be shared with the public. These decision makers must be removed from their roles. Such people choosing barbaric actions must be banned from taking any decisions regarding animals, they must not be let near any animal ever again. Their department must be investigated, who ( individuals or boat owners) were complaining, or seeing Freya as a major threat to human life? How many international animal rescue organizations did Norwegian Government contact/ seek help and advice before taking the decision of killing Freya. Animals are sentient beings, as human, it is our duty to govern their welfare.

Norwegian Government Officials did not only kill Freya, but they killed a symbol of love, hope and joy; shame on you Norway
